We should never underestimate the power of nature experiences for children. Time spent in nature is associated with positive conservation attitudes and behaviors as well as improved mental wellness. And just about every conservationist we meet speaks fondly of early experiences with nature as an inspiration for their career path.
We know that two of the greatest barriers teachers face in providing nature experiences for their students are the lack of time for planning and researching options as well as the lack of funding for bus transportation.
That’s why we support teachers in facilitating field trips and outdoor nature exploration for students with unique resources. We offer a nature learning and ideas booklet (complete with student worksheets!) for educators everywhere, and for teachers in our headquarters city of Washington, DC, we provide a comprehensive guide to exploring nature in the nation’s capital and field trip transportation grants for Title 1 schools.
Be the first to hear about new lesson resources, trainings, and opportunities with Conservation Nation Education Programs!
We will randomly draw one name quarterly to win your choice of binoculars or a set of nature books!
