Middle schoolers can now put themselves in the footsteps of Conservation Nation grantee, Fátima Ramis, as they explore a conservation challenge.
In our newest lesson for the Conservation Nation Academy, students participate in a storytelling game designed to help them understand how our human situations and viewpoints have an impact on the conservation of the Antillean manatee.
This game is based on the real-world project that Fátima tackled as a Conservation Nation grantee examining the complex perspectives and interactions of community members in and around a marine sanctuary in the Dominican Republic.
We are grateful for Fátima’s time and creativity in sharing her passion for conservation with students through the Conservation Nation Academy. We hope that many educators will be able to use both the English and Spanish versions of this lesson!
Our Conservation Nation Academy provides unique educational resources, lessons, and activities for teachers that challenge stereotypes and feature authentic conservation champions from around the world who come from diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
